In historic Worthington, On Second Thought’s next On Second Wednesdays of the Month Artists’ Night on the Patio is Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. including an author visit by Pastor, Dr. David A. Redding with selections from his forthcoming book, “The Origins of My Faith.”   For more information about David and his new church, Sky Farm Chapel, visit davidredding.com and skyfarmchapel.com.  Come meet and greet some local artists as they showcase their collections of handmade items including fabric purses, stained glass, crystal and bead jewelry, watercolors and woodcuts, knitted pieces, greeting cards and more. There will be treats and maybe even live music!  On Second Thought will begin accepting donations and consignments of fall clothing on that date as well. Dave talked this evening about Aunt Em, who married late in life, helped her sister raise ten kids (8 boys), and famously made pumpkin pies out of the neighborhood boys’ trick or treat on Halloween.

She was known for saying in the hardest times, “It’ll do me a world of good.” And meaning it.
I can’t find her pumpkin pie recipe, but here’s her Ginger Creams.

My new book, based on the last year’s talks at Laity Lodge, will be coming out the middle of August. We’re celebrating in several ways, but I wanted to mention especially the Autographing at On Second Thought,
